Prayer for Healing
Dear G-d, who is near to all who call upon You, be with me in my illness. Strengthen my faith in Your compassion. Grant me the strength to endure suffering, and vision to see beyond the present moment. May it be Your will to restore me to health and vigor, so that I might complete my years in happiness and contentment. Bless me with wisdom and understanding that I might serve You with a perfect heart. Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed. Help me and save me, for You are my Glory.
Psalm 6 [for healing]
G-d, if You are angry with me, do not punish me.
If you are vexed with me, do not chastise me.
Be merciful, G-d, for I am weak,
Heal me, for my bones tremble,
My body shakes.
When G-d, How long?
Be with me, G-d, rescue me,
Save me, out of Your kindness.
For should I die, I cannot remember You,
Beyond the grave, I cannot thank You.
I am worn out with groaning,
Every night I drench my bed
My pillow, soak with tears.
My eyes have grown dim in my grief,
I am worn out by all my troubles.
Remove from me all harm,
For You, G-d, have heard the sound of my sobbing.
Dear G-d, listen to my pleading,
Accept my prayers.
May all my afflictions be vanquished,
Be defeated and subdued in a moment.
Psalm 27 for Healing
G-d is my light and my salvation
Why should I be afraid?
G-d is the strength of my life
What should I fear?
If illness should come upon me to consume me,
Afflict and try to destroy me
It will fail, and be subdued.
If it encamps all around me,
My heart will not fear,
If it attacks me.
Of this, I am certain.
Only one thing I ask from G-d,
For this, I yearn.
That I may sit in G-d’s House the rest of my life,
To meditate on the pleasant ways of G-d,
And to frequent G-d’s sanctuary.
For G-d will shelter me in His succah on the day of adversity,
Shield me in the shelter of His tent,
Raise me up, on a Rock.
Now, please raise my head above those afflictions that surround me
And I will offer prayers in G-d’ s tent, prayers of jubilation.
I will sing and offer a melody to G-d.
Listen to the call of my voice
Be merciful to me, and answer me.
My heart says to me, “Seek G-d”.
G-d, I am seeking you Presence.
Do not hide from me,
Do not be vexed by your servant,
You were my Help – Do not turn from me,
Do not abandon me, G-d of my salvation.
Even though my parents may leave me,
G-d, You will care for me.
Teach me Your ways and lead me on the straight path,
Despite my shortcomings.
Do not give me over to my afflictions.
For they have risen against me intending harm.
Were it not for my faith in G-d, I would have been lost long ago.
When I put my hope in G-d, I am strengthened and have courage.
Yes, I will hope in G-d.
PSALM 91
Dwelling in the shelter of the Most High,
Abiding in the shadow of the Almighty,
I call The Almighty my refuge and fortress,
My God in whom I trust.
God will save you from the fowler’s snare,
From deadly illness.
God will cover you with His wings;
In God’s shelter you will find refuge.
Fear not terror by night, nor arrow that flies by day,
The pestilence that stalks in darkness
Nor the plague that rages at noon.
A thousand may fall by your side,
Ten thousand close at hand, but it will never touch you;
God’s faithfulness will shield you.
You need only look with your eyes
To see the recompense of the wicked.
You have made The Almighty your refuge,
The Most High your haven.
No evil shall befall you;
No plagues shall approach your dwelling.
God will instruct His angels to guard you in all your paths,
To carry you in their hands lest you stumble on a stone.
You will step on cubs and cobras,
Tread safely on lions and serpents.
“Since you are devoted to Me I will deliver you,”
Says the Lord;
“I will protect you because you care for Me.
“When you call to Me, I will answer;
I will be with you in time of trouble.
I will rescue you and honor you.
“I will satisfy you with long life,
And lead you to enjoy My salvation.”
A Healing Prayer After Jeremiah, The Prophet
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed.
Help me and save me, For You are my Glory.
Grant perfect healing to my afflictions,
O faithful and merciful G-d of healing.
Praised are You, Healer of Your People.
After Psalm 121
I will lift my eyes to the mountains; from where will my help come?
My help comes from G-d, Maker of heaven and earth.
G-d will not let my step falter, My guardian does not sleep.
The Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor dozes.
May G-d will watch over me, May G-d shield me with His right hand.
Let the sun not strike me by day, or the moon, by night.
Please, G-d, protect me from all evil; watch over my life.
May G-d guard my going out and my coming in, always.
